IN A NUTSHELL
When — July 2026

Role — Mentor/Supervisor
Production — Party Planning
One of the coolest parts of working at a university is getting to work alongside students who are learning and gaining experience right alongside you. They may technically be part-time employees, but around here, we call them OPS.
And one of my favorite opportunities is getting to work with and train these students. In fact, I started as one of them in my own office.
I’ll never forget my OG crew.
There’s a new crew now, and amongst them is Victor.
Victor came to our office looking for experience in the production world with some actual party experience. And no, I’m not talking about the club. He used to work at Party City.
Not only does he have a background in parties, but he’s also a very talented animator. During his time with us, we got to see him put those skills to work in our volumetric studio, edit commencement ceremonies, join us for live event setups, and, of course, indulge in our monthly birthday parties.
Recently, Victor got the opportunity to go work for Disney.
He’s still climbing the ranks, but I have no doubt he’ll work his way up to the big stages there. It’s been cool watching him grow, and I know he’ll be missed by our crew.
I started as an OPS looking for experience, too. So getting to watch another student come through our office, discover what he’s capable of, and move on to his next opportunity feels pretty special.
Go get ’em, Victor! We’ll be cheering you on from over here.
